In short
A one-time purchase, no subscription, no cloud. The gift-amount figures are cultural guidance, not financial advice. Refunds go through Apple, not us. Your data lives only on your phone — we hold no copy, so we cannot recover it for you. Keep your device backup on.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of 人情簿 Renqingbu (the "App"), provided by Digital Publishing Co. ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to Apple's Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service and to these Terms. We retain all rights, title, and interest in the App itself — its design, code, and content — that we don't expressly grant you here.
2. Your content
Everything you type into the App — names, relationship notes, amounts, event and guest information — is yours. We don't claim ownership of it, and (as described in our Privacy Policy) we never see it, because it's never transmitted anywhere. You're solely responsible for what you enter and for keeping your own backups, since the App has no cloud sync (see Section 6).
3. What the App is — and isn't
人情簿 Renqingbu shows customary/suggested gift amounts (行情) based on general cultural convention for Taiwanese occasions such as weddings, funerals, and other life events. These figures are informational and cultural guidance only. They are not financial advice, legal advice, or an authoritative rule of etiquette, and appropriate amounts vary by region, family, relationship, and circumstance in ways no app can fully capture. You're responsible for your own decisions about what to give, and we're not liable for any social, financial, or personal consequence of following or disregarding a suggested amount.
4. Purchases
Some features are unlocked through one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases, processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Once purchased, a feature is unlocked permanently for that Apple ID, and you can restore it on other devices signed into the same Apple ID using the App's "Restore Purchases" option.
Billing, refunds, and disputes are handled by Apple, not by us. We don't have the ability to issue refunds ourselves. If you want a refund, request it through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or through your device's purchase history. Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions govern that transaction.
5. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent the law allows. We don't guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.
6. No cloud backup — data loss risk
The App stores your data locally on your device only, with no cloud sync or server-side backup that we operate or control. If you delete the App, lose your device, or reset it without your own device backup enabled, your data cannot be recovered — not by you, and not by us, because we never had a copy. If you use Apple's own device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), that will include the App's data as part of your overall device backup — that's Apple's system, not ours, and its availability and behaviour are outside our control.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, loss of a saved gift-giving record, or any decision you made based on a suggested amount shown in the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific in-app purchase giving rise to the claim, or NT$100 if you made no purchase.
8. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may update, suspend, or discontinue the App (including making it unavailable on the App Store) at our discretion; we'll try to give reasonable notice for anything that affects purchases you've already made, but a discontinued app doesn't retroactively refund a permanent one-time purchase — see Section 4 on Apple's refund process.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except to the extent Apple's own Media Services Terms and Conditions govern your purchase transaction directly with Apple.
10. Apple as a third-party beneficiary
This section is required by Apple for any app distributed through the App Store using a custom EULA rather than Apple's own standard one — it's not marketing copy.
This agreement is between you and us. Apple is not a party to it and has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. In the event of a third-party claim that the App infringes another party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
